The Top Moments at 2023 Sueños Music Festival

Written by on June 1, 2023

Sueños Music Festival brought all the Latin hit-makers to Chicago this past weekend. Grant Park was taken over by acts like Becky G, Ivy Queen, Wisin y Yandel, Young Miko, Feid and more. The two-day festival featured all kinds of genres in the Latin music space, from reggaeton and Latin trap to regional Mexican music and EDM. Here are a few of our favorite moments at the 2023 Sueños Music Festival.

Becky G Represented Her Mexican Roots

After performing at Coachella in April, Becky G graced Sueños Music Festival with her arsenal of hits. She proudly represented her heritage by performing her regional Mexican music songs like the Peso Pluma-assisted “Chanel” and “Ya Acabó,” her collaboration with Marca MP. Mexican music was also present at the festival with banda act Grupo Firme and rapper Gera MX. For her longtime fans, Becky G made a nod to her past with a fun performance of her 2014 smash “Shower.” Becky G also sang her reggaeton hits like “Mayores,” which originally featured Bad Bunny, and the sexy “Sin Pijama.” In September, she will kick off her Mi Casa, Tu Casa Tour in the U.S.

Young Miko Proudly Represented the LGBTQ+ Community

Rising star Young Miko rocked the Sueños Musical Festival with her viral hits. The Puerto Rican rapper is openly queer in her music and she represented that proudly with a rainbow-colored microphone in her hand. Young Miko moved the crowd with her recent smash “Lisa” where she lyrically serenaded all her women crushes. She also performed her song “Bi,” which is an LGBTQ+ anthem from her Trap Kitty EP. Young Miko closed out the short but sweet set with the Feid-assisted “Classy 101.” She seamlessly translated the swagger from her songs to the stage. Next month, Young Miko’s Trap Kitty Tour touches down in the U.S.

Feid Had Sueños Seeing Green

Feid fever took over the Sueños Musical Festival. Many of his fans wore his signature color green and some even copied his “nea” or hood, style from Medellín, Colombia. Feid performed many of the hits from his breakthrough LP, last year’s Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo Te Pirateamos El Álbum, including the playful title track, “Normal,” and “Castigo.” He also performed his collaborations that have gone viral such as Ozuna’s “Hey Mor,” Maluma’s “Mojando Asientos,” and Mora’s “La Inocente” by himself. Feid is currently touring the U.S. with his Ferxxo Nitro Jam Underground Tour.

Wisin y Yandel, Chencho Corleone, and Nicky Jam Represented the OGs

Speaking of Feid, he was a special guest during Wisin y Yandel’s set. For the first time ever, Yandel and Feid performed their global hit “Yandel 150” together. Wisin y Yandel, who are pioneers in the reggaeton scene, turned back time with live performances of their classics such as “Noche de Sexo,” “El Teléfono,” and “Sexy Movimiento.” They were not the only OGs who were present at the festival. Nicky Jam, Chencho Corleone, and Arcángel performed their hits in their own sets as well. Corleone performed a lot of his past smashes from his days in the now-defunct duo Plan B.

Ivy Queen Reigned Supreme at Sueños

Another reggaeton pioneer who appeared at the Sueños Music Festival was Ivy Queen. She blazed a trail for women in reggaeton music when the genre was coming up from the underground in Puerto Rico. Ivy Queen performed her classics such as “Que Lloren” and “Quiero Bailar” live. In 2020, Bad Bunny invited her on a remix of his song “Yo Perreo Sola” alongside Nesi. During her set, Ivy Queen also sang her part of that remix, which had the crowd going wild. “Women rule here!” she asserted. The queen of reggaeton ruled the stage with her fierce performances.
